Who We AreThe North Star Carvers are a group of people; young and old, men and women. This group of people joined together to experience the challenge and reward of transforming a piece of wood into a piece of art! The group was first known as the Northwest Iowa Timbersplitters. Originally the Northwest Iowa Timbersplitters was formed in 2003 thru a community-school partnership between the S.T.A.R. Program and the Estherville Lincoln Central Community School District. The S.T.A.R. Program was funded through the 21st Century Community Learning Center Program. As the funds for this program were not renewed, the North Star Carvers joined with the Minnesota Woodcarvers Assosiation in 2004. Dues of $10 per year.
