The Blue Earth Royal Chiselers Wood Carvers Club was started in the early 1970's. The membership consisted of many accomplished
Carvers and beginners alike. Many of the original members belonged to a Wood Carving Club's in Minneapolis and Metro Area of the
Twin Cities. The long commute was made by devoted carvers for many years.
With the formation of the Minnesota Wood Carvers Club in the year 2000 members now meet locally. The Blue Earth Royal Chiselers
now consist of members from around the immediate area. Members come from Mankato, Madelia, Minneapolis,
Ceylon and from Iowa join together to share their talents, ideas and comradeship. Chip carving, relief carving and caricature
carving are club favorites.
The club has a wide variety of members, gender is almost equal which is a definite "Plus" according to the "Opposite Gender"
Some members have gone on to Professional Status and have incorporated their Carving talent in their business's. The art of
"Caricature Carving" has earned a member national recognition as a "Caricature Carver of America" instructor.
Many members enjoy sharing their talent, exchange of ideas and the company of fellow carvers that they belong to not one,
but two or more carving clubs.
