As the comarady grew between the fellow carvers, the idea to form a carving club grew to be a reality. Blue Mound WoodCarvers was organized May 12, 1986. Since that time our club has growen.We now have 33 active members and continue to enjoy sharing our ideas, talent, our carving abilities and comradship at our monthly meetings. CarvingsMany different forms of carving are done by our club members.Wildlife...from birds, fish, buffalo, waterfowl...from ducks, geese, shore birds. Relief carvings. Chip carving. Shoe's, boots, dogs, cats, airplanes, spoons just name's a few of our members' talents. ClassesWe offer Beginner carving classes in Febuary and offer other classes as requested by our membership.MeetingsBlue Mound WoodCarvers meet the 3rd Monday of every month in the basement of the Carnegie Cultural Center at 7:00p.m. Our membership consists of youth, women and men of various ages. We have members from all around SW MN and SE South Dakota. Our membership is openly seeking beginner and experienced carvers of all kinds.Thoughts to ponder...."Every piece of wood holds a Secret Art Form just waiting to be given life at the twitch of a carvers knife."Never say, "I can't carve."
