Fellow woodcarvers,
Allow me to introduce Don Justice, a talented woodcarver from southern Minnesota.

Don served in the United States Navy from 1952 to 1956, aboard the canier USS Princeton and the USS Jupiter, an aviation supply ship, serving during the Korean conflict. After his discharge from the Navy, Don returned home to his wife Gloria in Fairmont, Minnesota, where they lived and raised their ihmily. They have a son Gene and two daughters Janet and Julie. Don and Gloria also have five grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

Don began his work career in 1956 with Fairmont Railway Motors and remained with them until his retirement in 1994. Fairmont Railway Motors is a major manufacturer of high quality rail and railroad maintenance equipment.

Don has been interested in woodcarving for several years. It was at a Ceylon Woodcarvers Show in Fairmont that Jim Morris invited him to attend a club meeting. This bands-on introduction to woodcarving was important, and started Don on his way to a hobby that he truly enjoys. Don is also an active member of the Blue Earth Royal Chiselers. Don is quick to credit many fellow carvers for the help and positive influence getting him started, and for sharing their skills, time, and knowledge with hint To name a few, Jim Morris, Lowell Farland, Herb Hansen, Doug Richards, Carl Beckendort Bruce Ankeny, and Lem Steele have encouraged and shared in many ways.

Don has also taken seminars from Bob Gluth, Dave Rushlo, Sw Martin, Ron Wells, Phil and Vicky Bishop (one of his favorites), Lloyd Meng, Denny Neubauer, and local favorite Harley Schnñtgen.

Don enjoys carving and is a great promoter. He encourages anyone interested to give woodcarvingatry.A Don J. quote “wood carvers are great people, willing to share time and talent.” Keep your tools sharp.
